Born on the 24th of March 1984 in a small country town in Ireland to the parents of David and Ann Mooney. The youngest in her family after her brother Delwyn & sister Rowena. Growing up on a stud farm in Ireland, gave Carla a great appreciation of small town life whilst taking advantage of the freedom that country life offers. This is where her love for animals and the environment has stemmed from. After attending a small local national school in her early years she progressed to Secondary Education, which was overseen by the Presentation Nuns. Her first foray into performing in a leading role was at the age of 15 as the character Lily in the musical ‘Annie’. As well as an artistic personality, she is also very business minded too. Of a career in acting she knew all to well of the pitfalls of such a career without anything else. It was this conflict of ambitions that eventually ended in her pursuing a university course in International Business and French Degree. Her love of other cultures and a desire to travel inclined her to select French. This decision has definitely stood to her as it has allowed her to pursue her acting aspirations whilst enjoying her teaching career at the same time. Up until now she merely flirted with acting but it began to grow into a more intimate relationship. The more she came in touch with inspiring people and their acting philosophies, the more it grew inside her. Acting became a complete passion for her, a wholeness that was forming within her. |
